A unique day out for all the family
At Masson Mills we cater for a great variety of ages and have the facilities to keep everyone entertained. We have shops to browse, all the latest fashions from brands like The Edinburgh Woollen Mill, Roman Originals and Peacocks, to local food produce and Whiskies from around the world. Our play area ‘Tree Top Tumble’ is popular with the little ones, whilst those more interested in the history of the building may choose to have a tour of our Working Textile Museum.
During your visit you can refresh and relax in our Derwent Restaurant. Sip on a cup of Puro coffee, fill up on one of hot plate specials or indulge in a cream cake.
Masson Mills Working Textile Museum
A unique opportunity to see how it used to be in the this working textile museum. There’s a fine collection of machinery dating between the 18th – 20th centuries. To give visitors a sense of what it may have been like in the days when the mill was active, the museum whisk’s you back to 1783. You’ll have to clock in with your ticket before you can enjoy your time soaking up the atmosphere which include the smells, sounds and sights of that period.

Open Mon – Sat 10am-4pm,
The museum is open from the first week in January until 30th November inclusive. Closed Easter Sunday and throughout December (Please note that during January inclement weather may affect opening times).
Mon – Sat 11am and 2pm in the Weaving Shed (Sun 12 noon and 2pm)
