ENJOY THE FUN AND FRIENDSHIP OF OUR COMMUNITY CINEMA!
Initially sponsored by a pilot scheme, a lottery grant in 2007 enabled us to purchase our own big screen equipment – now recently updated. Furthermore, we have been operating independently for over 10 years. We’re also a voluntary not-for-profit organisation.
All films are shown at Holymoorside Village Hall which is 3 miles SW of Chesterfield. We screen from September to April (not December)
TWO FILMS PER MONTH – WITH ENGLISH SUB-TITLES
Friday Films, held on 4th Friday of the month are mostly a popular ‘feel-good’ programme, screened at 7.30 pm. Stay to enjoy a cup of tea/coffee and a chat after the film.
Tuesday Movies, held on the 2nd Tuesday of the month are sometimes slightly more ‘challenging’ films, screened at 8.00pm. Arrive in time to enjoy a glass of wine beforehand.
All films are shown with English subtitles which enables those with any hearing loss to completely enjoy sharing films with friends and family. Everyone appreciates the sub-titles – they do not interfere with enjoyment of the film experience.
