This popular Festival returns on 22 and 23 September 2018 at Elvaston Castle Country Park and is a celebration of traditional and contemporary woodland crafts.

Watch experts at work and have a go yourself. For inspiration take a look at our  Flickr page.

This is a great day out for all the family with lots of fun activities for children, unique items, gifts and furniture to buy, shire horses, birds of prey and an array of stalls.

New attractions include the Vikings of Middle England in the living history encampment, with wonderful re-enactment and crafts from yesteryear.  Also new this year is the amazing Arbor, an 18ft tall, part man, part tree.

The ever-popular Green Man will also return with songs and stories.

The festival is set within the beautiful grounds of Elvaston Castle Country Park, which add to the unique feel of this special event. You also have the opportunity to explore the woodland, formal gardens, a lake and parkland that surround the castle.

There will be lots of delicious foods to choose from, with artisan and wood-fired pizzas, veggies and vegan, crepes, toasties, swing grill sausages, hog roast, jackets, campfire cooking, wild food and ice cream.

The Woodland Festival runs from 10 am to 5 pm on both days.

Special event parking charges apply all weekend:

  • £10 per car all day
  • £5 per motorcycle all day
  • £15 weekend ticket available

Payment is by cash only. The voucher attached to this page gives you a £1 discount off the daily parking charge for the festival.

There will be a directory of exhibitors available at the festival to help you plan your day.
